The Mo Farah Foundation kicked off the evening with a speech from Senior Operations Officer Diana Nell who recapped the year, starting with the story of how and why we were founded and leading up to our vision for 2013 – The completion of our very first Orphanage & Sports Academy in Somalia.
Guests were then treated to live performances from 3 very special artists in the shape of Dan Gillespie Sells (Lead Singer of The Feeling), Amelia Lily and Maisie Mae of whom is a very talented young breakthrough artist that has recently penned a song for The Mo Farah Foundation.
‘Shake’ goes on iTunes general release on September the 17th 2012.
The flagship of our evening however was the Live Auction of which some of the Lot Items included a bespoke HubLot watch, 1 on 1 Training session with Mo, A day shadowing ITV reporter Rags Martel, x4 VIP tickets to ALOTO and x10 VIP tickets to England V South Africa at Twickenham Stadium’s famous ‘The Benches’. However it is Lot 11 of which stirred the biggest buzz. Signed and framed Usain Bolt spikes of which were auctioned off by an impromptu visit to the stage by the fastest man on the planet himself helping to generate even more funds for the Mo Farah Foundation.
Thank you Mr Usain Bolt!
Added to the Silent Auction of which ran throughout the evening and our raffle ticket draw, all of our guests helped us to raise a massive £200,000!
Thank you all for your huge support and we look forward to seeing you all again next year to report on 2013 and of course look forward to 2014.
